MARGARITO ZUNIGA MISSION – Margarito Zuniga, 89, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at his residence in Mission. He was born in Mexico and had lived in Alamo most of life. Mr. Zuniga is preceded in death by his wife, Marie “Virginia” Zuniga. He is survived by his eight children, Adelayda Zuniga of Melrose Park, Chicago, Paula Hernandez of Greely, Colorado, Eusebia (Eduardo) Lopez, Bertha Alicia (Juan) Lopez both of Mission, Maria Del Socorro (Ramon) Espinosa, Gregorio Margarito (Rosario) Zuniga, both of Alamo, Virginia Lourdes (Francisco Cantu) Curry of Santa Rosa, and Juan Yrineo (Yvette) Zuniga of McAllen; 21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Ramon Zuniga of Roma; one sister, Felipa Rubalcaba of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, May 2, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral services will take place at 12 noon Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
