Valentina "Vale" S. Ybarra

EDINBURG - Valentina “Vale” S. Ybarra, 88, went home to our Lord Thursday, June 14, 2018, surrounded by her family in Edinburg.
Vale was born on December 16, 1929 in Edinburg and lived there all of her life. She married the love of her life, Jose C. Ybarra on January 22, 1950 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Vale was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg.
She is preceded in death by her son, Armando Ybarra; and her parents, Bardomiano and Sebastiana Sanchez.
Vale is survived by her husband of 68 years, Jose C. Ybarra; her six children, Ricardo (Sylvia) Ybarra, Roel (Hilda) Ybarra, Rene (Yolanda) Ybarra, Reynaldo Ybarra, Homer (Mary) Ybarra, Herman (Marissa) Ybarra, all of Edinburg; her daughter-in-law, Celia Ybarra of Edinburg; 17 grandchildren, Yvonne Y. (Gray) Porcella, Rocky (Brianna), Erik, Casey (Mary), Julian (Morgan), Ricky, Selina, Lee Roy (Esmer), Samuel (Roxi), Rene Jr., Laura, Randy (Becky), Tony, Tina, Bobby (Leeanna), Michael (Aaron), and Adrian Ybarra; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m., rosary Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Pallbearers will be Rocky, Julian, Lee Roy, Rene Jr., Tony, and Bobby Ybarra. Honorary pallbearers will be Reynaldo Ybarra and Thomas Rojas.
The family would like to give special thanks to Oralia S. Rojas for taking care of her aunt Valentina.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
