CRISTINA VELA
SAN JUAN – Cristina Vela, 70, died Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in San Antonio.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Carlota Gomez.
Mrs. Vela is survived by her husband, Baraquiel Vela of San Juan; a son, Alvan B. Vela of Edinburg; three daughters, Isabel (Gustavo) Martinez, Ada K. (Alejandro) Barrera, both of San Juan, Ella M. (Joey) Rodriguez of Laredo; eight grandchildren; and ten siblings.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018, at La Trinidad United Methodist Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
