HILDA P. URESTE

ALAMO - Hilda P. Ureste, 85, died Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.

Born in Rancherias, Tamps., Mexico, Mrs. Ureste had lived in Alamo most of her life and was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. She was employed as a production supervisor for 50 years at South Frozen Foods.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rodolfo "Rudy" Ureste; a son, Ernesto Ureste; her parents, Liborio and Sofia Perez; four brothers, Medardo, Dario, Ponciano and Liborio Perez; and a sister, Wenceslada Laurel.

Mrs. Ureste is survived by three children, Ruben (Alma) Ureste of McAllen, Belia (Ben) Cantu of Pharr and Sylvia (Luciano) Leal of Alamo; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; a brother, Leonel Perez of Silver City, New Mexico; and three sisters, Delia P. Cantu, Maria P. Walsh, both of McAllen and Carolina P. Gonzalez of Alamo.

She loved her grandchildren deeply and loved cooking and baking.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, today, October 25, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, October 26, 2009 at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo. Pallbearers will be Robert Tomas Ureste, Ruben James Ureste, David Leal, Daniel Leal, Frank Guerrero, Roy Gonzalez, Ben Cantu II and Steve Garza. Honorary pallbears will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral service are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
