LA BLANCA – Mario Alberto Tijerina, 18, died Sunday, April 19, 2009 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mario was born April 9, 1991 in Edinburg, and had lived in La Blanca all of his life.
Mario is survived by his mother, Alicia Castillo Tijerina; a brother,Marco Antonio Tijerina; a sister, Megan Alexis Tijerina, all of La Blanca; his father, Mario (Rosa) Tijerina of McAllen; maternal grandmother, Emilia
Lugo Castillo of La Blanca; paternal grandparents, Jose Ruben and Oralia Tijerina of Edinburg; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and his girlfriend, Karina Puente of San Juan.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today, April 22, 2009 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in San Carlos. Interment will follow at
Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Pallbearers will be Eloy Villarreal,George Gonzalez, Carlos Beza, Felix Garza, Mario Castro and Roel Moreno; honorary pallbearers will be Leo Oviedo, Raymond Reyna, Pedro Carlos and Benito Garcia.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
