ALAMO – Teresa Cuevas, 61, passed away Monday, April 13, 2026, at South Texas Health Systems in McAllen.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Asencion Cuevas and Esiquia Garcia; two siblings, Matilde (Noe) Lopez and Cynthia Cuevas.

Teresa is survived by her two children, Distiny Ann Lopez and Maranda Hernandez; three grandchildren, Noah Martinez, Maralene Martinez and Madelinn Cantu; eight siblings, Ramon (Diana) Cuevas, Anita Cuevas, Francisco (Elma) Cuevas, Guadalupe Hinojosa, Rojelio (Melinda) Cuevas, Juanita (Fidel) Saldana, Ricardo (Maxine) Cuevas and Martin (Elisa) Cuevas.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 311 E. Expressway 83, in San Juan. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg. Interment of cremated remains will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2026 at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that dog food donations be made in her honor.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
