DONNA – Luz Maria Tapia, 69, died Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerardo Tapia; a son, Erik Tapia; two brothers, Fernando Regis and Jaime Regis; and parents, Javier Regis Leeb and Maria De La Luz Miranda Puerto.
Mrs. Tapia is survived by five children, Arturo (Sandra Mercado) Tapia of Mission, Brenda (John) Zachel of Toledo, Ohio, Alejandro (Patricia) Estrada-Regis, Gustavo Tapia, both of Mexico City, Cesar (Grisell) Estrada-Regis of Queretaro; 22 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; five siblings, Javier († Maria Esther) Regis, Maria Julia (Daniel) Vasquez, both of Mexico City, Esther (Roberto) Rodriguez of Laredo, Ruben (Annie) Regis of Puerto Rico, Ricardo (Vicky) Regis of Cancun; 11 nephews; 13 nieces; and 18 great-nephews and nieces.
Cremation took place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg. A memorial service will take place at 5:30 p.m. today, July 24, 2018, at Christian Fellowship Church, 2201 Trenton Rd. in McAllen.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
