SYLVIA GARCIA HINOJOSA

EDINBURG – Sylvia Garcia Hinojosa, 73, went to be with the Lord (and probably took over the kitchen) on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

Sylvia had a servant's heart and lived her life caring for others, always putting the needs of family, friends, and even strangers first. Her quiet acts of kindness and unwavering dedication to others leave behind a legacy of grace, humility, and love that will always be remembered.

She is reunited with her loving parents, Esmeregildo and Aurora Garcia; and her brother, Jaime, who better be ready for a heavenly family gathering, Sylvia-style.

Mrs. Hinojosa leaves behind a family who adored her, a devoted husband of over 50 years, David Hinojosa; her children, David (Cynthia), Christopher (Brenda), and Clarissa; cherished grandchildren, Madison, David III, David Andrew, Desiree; beloved siblings, Dalia Patino, Jesse Garcia, Jorge Garcia, Sandra Lopez; and of course, her two spoiled grand-pups, Charlie and Stanley.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. A funeral mass will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg.

Following the mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a reception will take place in the parish hall, providing an opportunity for family and friends to come together in remembrance and celebration of Sylvia's life.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
