Estella Solis, 62, went home to our Lord Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at McAllen Medical Center.
Born in San Juan, she had lived in Alamo most of her life. Mrs. Solis was employed by PSJA ISD for 38 years as an educator at Sorensen Elementary School in San Juan.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elodia and Jose Vargas.
Mrs. Solis is survived by her loving husband, Rene Solis of Alamo; two children, Rene (Laura Lopez) Solis II of La Feria, Vianey Solis of Alamo; a grandson, Rene Solis III of La Feria; two brothers, Ramiro (Celia) Vargas, Jaime Vargas, Adelaida (†Gilberto) Rodriguez, all of Alamo, Herminia (Jose) Saldana of McAllen, Dominga (Esmeregildo) Cortez of Alamo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2018, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
