SOFIA MARES PEREZ

EDINBURG – Sofia Mares Perez, 88, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Sofia Mares; son, David Perez; three brothers, Alfredo, Tomas, and Roberto Mares. 

Ms. Mares is survived by her five children, Tomas (Josefina) Perez, Roberto (Letty) Perez, Susana (Miguel) Flores, Ida Leticia (Joe) Eguia, Ernesto (Elizabeth) Perez; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Francisco Mares, Eloisa Guerra, Pablo Mares, Carolina Zamora, Amado Mares, Oscar Mares, and Raul Mares. 

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, September 13, 2024, at Memoria Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. 

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
