Socorro Martinez
PHARR – Socorro Martinez, 84, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026, at her residence in Pharr.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Vicente Martinez; her parents, Felipa and Antonio Garza; and a brother, Luis Antonio Garza.
Socorro is survived by her son, Vicente (Sara Espinosa) Martinez; three grandchildren, Rigoberto Antonio Martinez, Rubie Elizabeth Martinez, Jose Antonio Martinez; one great-grandchild, Damian Martinez; and four siblings, Irene Cano, Napoleon Garza, Heriberto Garza and Diamantina Pena.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Monday, March 16, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 12 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
