Santiago Davila
SAN JUAN- Santiago Davila, 87, passed away June 15, 2024, at McAllen Medical Center after his stay at the Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Veterans Home.
Santiago was proudly employed as a teacher at the Pharr-San Juan- Alamo Independent School District, for over 40 proud years. Santiago served in the U.S. Air Force and later earned his college degree. As the first and only college graduate of his immediate family, he was very passionate about education. Santiago shared his ambition to have family succeed in college and would often talk about his time at the University of Notre Dame. Because of him, many family members followed his footsteps and obtained college degrees. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He liked bingo nights, and also loved his coffee with pan dulce.
Santiago was born on July 12, 1936 to Santiago and Maria Luisa Davila of Hargill, Texas. Santiago was the loving caregiver to his beloved mother after his fathers' death. Santiago was preceded in death by his parents, Santiago and Maria Luisa Davila; brothers, Carlos Davila, Jose Alejandro Davila; sisters, Francisca Alvarado Davila, and Eva Reyna. He is survived by his siblings, Manuela Davila, Calendario Davila, Federico Davila, Alicia Beltran and San Juanita Alonzo; and many nephews and nieces.
