Santiago Acevedo

PHARR- Santiago Acevedo, 77, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance.

A retired Navy veteran, Santiago lived his life with honor, duty, and dedication. His service and legacy will never be forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Marissa Acevedo; and parents, Domingo and Juanita Acevedo.

Santiago is survived by his wife of 53 years, Juanita Acevedo; daughter, Melissa (Henry) Diaz; two granddaughters which he adored, Clarissa and Analissa Diaz; three siblings, Raul Acevedo, Ofelia Menchaca and Arturo Acevedo, and beloved nieces and nephews; and three siblings, Raul Acevedo, Ofelia Menchaca and Arturo Acevedo.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, November 6m 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
