ELVIRA SANCHEZ
EDINBURG – Elvira Sanchez, 82, Peacefully went home to be with our Lord Friday, May 4, of 2018. Born in Mexico, Elvira Sanchez lived the majority of her life in Edinburg, TX, and was a long time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Elvira enjoyed her time and visits from loved ones near and far, and will always be remembered for her afternoon walks, and joy of watering her flowers that surrounded her home. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Eloy Sanchez; her son, Abel Sanchez; five brothers, Rogelio Cortez, Zaragosa Cortez, Adan Cortez Jr., Israel Cortez, Gilbert Cortez; and her sister Olivia.
Ms. Sanchez is survived by her three sons, Eloy (Connie) Sanchez of Moses Lake, WA, Alejandro (Novelia) Sanchez of Pharr, Israel (Nelda) Sanchez of Edinburg; two daughters, Elvira (Alvaro) Segura of Edinburg, Melva Madera of Moses Lake, WA; sixteen loving grandchildren; twenty-six precious great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eva Rodriguez of Edinburg.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, May 7, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
