Rosalinda Garcia, 77, beloved daughter, wife, sister, and aunt, passed away in Mercedes, Texas on August 23, 2025. She was the daughter of Luciano and Francisca Moreno of Donna.

Born and raised in Donna, Texas, Rosalinda was a graduate of Donna High School. She then attended McAllen Business College and  Pan American University, now known as UTRGV. After marrying Joel Garcia they made Mercedes their permanent residence.

She was employed by the Diocese of Brownsville and served as secretary for Catholic Charities in Alamo. She was then employed by Donna ISD as a teacher’s aide for several years and also worked as a substitute teacher with Mercedes ISD. She later became a home health provider with Health Care Unlimited.

Rosalinda was a kind, caring, soft-spoken, intelligent woman with strong convictions. She was a devoted Catholic who found solace in praying her rosary and was devoted to her husband and taking care of her sister. Rosalinda enjoyed listening to 60s music, attending dances with her husband, and spending time with her and her husband’s family at gatherings. Some of her fondest memories were made meeting for breakfast or lunch with her brothers and sisters. She enjoyed watching basketball and was a lifelong fan of the Boston Celtics. Her favorite band was The Beatles and she enjoyed NASCAR. Rosa also enjoyed literature and keeping up with current events.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Francisca and Luciano Moreno; maternal grandparents, Aniceta and Mariano Lopez; paternal grandparents, Leocadia and Hermenegildo Moreno; her twin brother, Rene, and brothers, Javier and Mario; nephew, Javier Moreno, Jr.; and niece, Elizabeth Moreno.

Rosalinda is survived by her siblings, Hilda (Ramiro) Rangel, Alvaro (Frances) Moreno, Andrea (Jose) Cavazos, Pedro (Azalea) Moreno, Anna Maria (Alex) Madrigal, and Laura Hernandez; her cousin, Frances Raby; several nieces, nephews, great grand nieces and great grand nephews.

Cremation took place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, September 1, 2025, at Funeraria del Angel Highland in Weslaco. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Funeraria del Angel Highland. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
