Rogelio “Roy” Mancha, 69, entered into eternal rest Monday, February 9, 2026, at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston.
Mr. Mancha was a lifelong resident of Pharr. He was a loving and doting father and grandfather who loved being outdoors, playing football and basketball with his grandchildren. Roy was very social and enjoyed spending time with his brothers, sisters, and family. He especially loved going to breakfast with his cousins and friends, playing drums, and listening to Tejano music. Roy was a 1976 graduate of PSJA High School. He earned an Associate’s Degree from Bee County College in Beeville and spent his career in law enforcement. He was formerly employed by Alamo Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, and retired as a security officer with PSJA ISD.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe Mancha and Maria del Refugio Mancha; a brother, Guadalupe Mancha Jr.; two nieces, Esperanza “Hope” Mancha and Janie Dalcour; a nephew, Lucio Solis Jr.; and three sisters, Socorro Guzman, Isabel Jaime, and Santos Levadoski; his in-laws, Raul "Mague" Casares and Maria Gloria Casares.
Roy is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 45 years, Diana Mancha; two daughters, Jennifer Mancha, Kristina Mancha; two grandchildren, Alexia Jordan and Caleb Isaiah Segura; and six siblings, Irma Barrientes, Servando (+Yolanda) Mancha, Oscar (Josie) Mancha, Juanita (Elias) Olmeda, Anita (+Lucio) Solis, and Armando (Rosie) Mancha; his in-laws, Melinda (Alex) Silva, Nelda (Mauro) Sandoval, Raul Casares, Roel Casares, Melissa Casares.
A very special thank you to our niece, Sylvia Barrientes, whose unwavering presence, compassion, and advocacy during Roy's hospitalization brought comfort and peace to our family. We are deeply grateful for the strength and love you showed every day.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2026, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jaime Javier Mancha, Michael Mancha, David Mancha, Aron Mancha, Ricky Mancha, Raul Casares. Honorary pallbearers are Caleb Isaiah Segura and Freddy Barrientes.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
