ROGELIO “KIRO” ALANIZ 

ALAMO - Rogelio “Kiro” Alaniz, 88, died Friday, May 29, 2026, at Grand Terrace Rehabilitation and Healthcare in McAllen. 

Mr. Alaniz was a lifelong resident of Alamo and a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. 

He is preceded in death by three brothers, Rafael Alaniz, Cruz Alaniz, Inocencio Alaniz, and four sisters, Elvira Alvarez, Andrea De La Cruz, Minerva Gomez, and Esperanza Alaniz. 

Mr. Alaniz is survived by his wife, Delia S. Alaniz; six children, Olga Lidia Alaniz (Jerry) Molina, Manuela Alaniz (George) Briones, Regelio "Roy” Alaniz Jr., Monica Alaniz (Hiram) Alanis, Rolando Alaniz M.D., Raul Alaniz M.D.; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Antonio (Libby) Alaniz, Martiniano (Amparo) Alaniz Jr., Virginia (Jesus) Delgadillo, and Rosa Jimenez; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. service Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg. 

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
