SAN JUAN - Raquel Elisa Rodriguez, 50, died Tuesday June 19, 2018, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg, after a lengthy illness.
Raquel graduated from PSJA ISD and Pan American University. She was an educator at Donna ISD until her retirement.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Rogelio, Sr. and Maria Cruz Cantu; maternal grandparents, Refugio and Ramona Yzaguirre.
Rachel is survived by her husband, Ricardo Rodriguez of San Juan; two daughters, Alissa Christina Rodriguez and Erika Elisa Rodriguez; her parents, Rogelio and Eva Y. Cantu, all of San Juan; three siblings, Rogelio (Raquel) Cantu of McAllen, Rebecca Cantu (Jose Rodriguez) of San Antonio, Baldomero (Vicky) Cantu of Plano, TX; mother-in-law, Norma Rodriguez of San Juan; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., with a 6:30 p.m. rosary Friday, June 22, 2018, followed by a 7:00 p.m. funeral service at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in San Juan. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
