PHARR - Juan Rodriguez, 81, died Sunday, July 31, 2011, at his residence in Pharr.
Born in Guanajuato, Mexico, Mr. Rodriguez had lived in Pharr most of his life and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Graciano and Juana Rodriguez; his mother-in-law, Julia Alvarez; two brothers, Silvino Rodriguez and Cresencio Rodriguez; and three sisters, Teresa Rodriguez, Cirila Tapia and Guadalupe Rodriguez.
Mr. Rodriguez is survived by his wife, Maria De Jesus Rodriguez, of Pharr; nine children, Maria Gerarda Palacios, of San Juan, Carmen Najera, of North Richland Hills, Texas, Juan Rodriguez, of Houston, Deacon Graciano Rodriguez, Maria Julia Rodriguez, both of Edinburg, Erineo Rodriguez, of Pearland, Texas, Maria Valentina Fernandez, Juanita Rodriguez, both of McAllen, Maria De Jesus Rodriguez, of Mission; 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Inez Gonzalez, of Houston, Texas, Luz Rodriguez and Juana Rodriguez, both of Guanajuato,Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am Thursday, August 4, 2011, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
