Roberto Tagle

Roberto Tagle, 86, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Roberto was a hardworking man who spent many years of his life as a truck driver. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed hunting and scratching lottery tickets - simple pleasures that brought him happiness and will always bring a smile to the faces of those who knew him best. Most importantly, Roberto was a man of God. His faith was at the heart of the way he lived his life. He loved his family deeply and leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, strength, and memories that his family will carry with them forever. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that a man who carried God in his heart throughout his life is now at peace in his presence. 

He is preceded in death by his two daughters, Carolina Arcos and Marina Tagle; grandson, David Arcos; his parents, Alfredo Ernesto Tagle and Ester Tagle; and seven siblings.

Mr. Tagle is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Margarita Tagle; his two daughters, Carmen Cantu (Armando Rivera) and Irene Tagle; his grandchildren, Rachel (Aldo) Rios, Rebecca (Christian Ozane) Cantu, Roxanna (Charlie) Reyes, and Arnulfo Cantu; and his great-grandchildren, Nailea Quintanilla, Sofia Reyes, Mateo Reyes, and Camelia Reyes, along with his other beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Charlie Reyes, Christian Ozane, Arnulfo Cantu, Moises Tagle, Benjamin Tagle, and Ezekiel Tagle.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. prayer service Monday, August 17, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
