Roberto E. Moreno, Jr.

Roberto E. Moreno Jr, 74, died Monday, May 27, 2024, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. He was a U.S. Postal Letter Carrier for 35 years. In August 2003, he and his wife Becky, obeyed the Gospel and the Lord added him to the church of Christ. He maintained membership and fellowship with the church of Christ in Pharr, TX. In later years, while limited in his physical abilities and the added challenges brought on by Covid, he maintained his fellowship via telephone by listening in to Bible Study and Worship Service with the Gregory church of Christ. 

His favorite pastimes were playing golf, barbecuing for his family, working on a variety of outdoor projects and his plants/flowers in the backyard, and especially enjoyed and cherished time spent with the family.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca “Becky” Moreno; and his parents Roberto E. Moreno Sr. and Ana Marines.

Mr. Moreno is survived by three children, Rebecca “Becky” (Samuel) Cortez, Roberto “Bobby” E. (Gina) Moreno III, Jesse A. (Leticia) Moreno; four grandchildren, Tara, Noah, Ethan, Stella; eight siblings, Romeo “Lino” Moreno, Ana Maria (Ramiro) Gonzalez, Diana (+Fernando) Gonzalez, Raudel (Maricela) Moreno, Roel Moreno, Nicolasa (Joe) Chavez, Rocky (Lupita) Moreno and Ricky (Letty) Moreno.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. prayer service Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.  Funeral service will take place at 11:30 a.m. Monday June 3, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
