EDINBURG – Roberto Avila, 82, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at DHR Health Hospice in Edinburg.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Felix Abel and Porfiria Avila; three brothers, Jesus Avila, Raul Avila, and Ruben Avila.

Mr. Avila is survived by his wife, Severa O. Avila; five children, Alicia A. (Martin) Gonzalez, Roberto Avila Jr., Daniel (Nellie) Avila, Gilberto (Sandra) Avila, Sandy (David) Avila; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five siblings, Martin Avila, Estella Morales, Juanita Avila Salinas, Lupita Avila, and Ester Ozuna.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
