Hidalgo - Ricardo Melendez, 76, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Aurora House in Weslaco.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jovita Melendez Gallardo; his parents, Feliciano and Josefina Melendez; and brothers, Gabriel and Roberto Melendez.
Ricardo is survived by his five children, Ricardo Melendez Jr., Roberto Melendez, Juana Patricia Melendez, Jose Feliciano (Claudia) Melendez, and Jesse Melendez; five grandchildren, Brandon Lee, Felix Iker, Leslie, Jonathan and David Melendez; two great - grandchildren, Joseph Nathan and Layla Melendez; and four siblings, Benigno Melendez, Ismael Melendez, Ignacia Cortez and Hermelinda Melendez.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Friday, October 30, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 12 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Interment will follow at Hidalgo City Cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
