Reynaldo “Rey” Garza

PHARR- Reynaldo “Rey” Garza, 87, died Friday, January 19, 2024, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Elido “Chale” Garza and Angelina “Gila” Garza; three sisters, Graciela “Chela” Garza, Minerva “Hilma” Mariscal, Diamantina “Tana” Olivarez; and a brother Charlie Garza Jr.

Mr. Garza is survived by his wife Maria E. Garza; five children, Norma L. Rodriguez, Lee Ann (Miguel) Bernal, Dahlia Olivares, Elizabeth (Eddie) Guzman, Reynaldo (Gloria) Garza Jr.; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Cory Ramirez and Josie Salinas.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. Rosary Monday, January 22, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
