TOMAS RENDON
EDINBURG – Tomas Rendon, 83, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
Born in La Noria Ranch, Texas, Mr. Rendon had lived in Red Gate most of his life and was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in San Manuel. He was a retired school bus driver and enjoyed working with the students.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Felipe and Manuela Rendon; seven brothers, Guillermo Garcia, Juan Garcia, Jesus Garcia, Felipe Rendon Jr., Eugenio Rendon, Manuel Rendon and Alfonso Rendon; and a sister, Safira Garcia.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lydia Rendon; two daughters, Cynthia (Steven) Vidaurri and Pam (Javier) Ponce all of Edinburg; three grandchildren, Victoria Ponce, Sarah Ponce and Rafael Tomas Vidaurri; a sister, Bertha Rendon; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, February 12, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton, in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, February 13, 2010, at St. Anne Catholic Church in San Manuel.
Family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses in the ICU department at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen for their care and compassion.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg
