REBECCA V. SANCHEZ

EDINBURG – Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Wife, Rebecca “Becky” Sanchez Villarreal, 85, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Edinburg, Tx, she was a beloved pillar of the community who will be remembered for her boisterous laugh and her spirit and her warm personality.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Didaco and Rafaela Villarreal; eight siblings, Seferino Villarreal, Guadalupe Villarreal, Roberto Villarreal, Paula Hernandez, Bertha Saenz, Gregoria Davila, Amada Saenz, Maria Saenz; and her grandson, Christopher Sanchez.

She is survived by her husband, Olivero Sanchez; her four children, Guadalupe Sanchez (Rachel), Didaco Sanchez (Ada), Romana Sepulveda (Martin), Amy Sepulveda (Genaro Lopez); nine grandchildren, Priscilla Sanchez, Eric Sanchez (Megan), Megan Sepulveda (Oscar Segovia), Martin Sepulveda (Nina), Amanda Sanchez, Luis Miguel Sanchez (Mary), Daleth Sanchez, Guimel Sanchez, Esteban Sanchez; five great-grandchildren, Lyla, Ximena, Sean, Eva and Leo; and her sister, Dora Villarreal.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2026, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
