MCALLEN– Ramiro Cantu Garza,85, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at South Texas Health System in McAllen.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arturo and Guadalupe Cantu; and seven siblings.

Mr. Cantu is survived by his wife, Criselda Leal de Cantu; four children, Jaime Cantu, Ramiro Arturo Cantu, Anabel Cantu, and Nadia Cantu; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and four siblings, Ofelia Rodriguez, Olga Cantu, Juanita Cantu, and Silva Cantu.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m., with a 6 p.m. prayer service, Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2026 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in San Juan. Interment will follow at San Jose Catholic Cemetery in Mission.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of San Juan.
