Melinda Yvonne Ramirez

MELINDA YVONNE RAMIREZ SAN JUAN – Melinda Yvonne Ramirez, 46, died Thursday, April 18, 2013 at her residence in San Juan. Born in McAllen, she had lived in San Juan all of her life. She was employed by PSJA ISD as a special education teacher for over 20 years. She is preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth “Lizzy” Ramirez. Melinda is survived by two children, Lizette Garza and Jesus “Jay” Ortiz; her parents, Jesus J. and Virginia Ramirez, all of San Juan; two sisters, Gina (Carlos) Saenz, of Pharr, Jessica (Hector) Cantu, of Raymondville; four nieces, Ashly, Alexis, Ariella, Alyssa; a nephew, Jayson; and a special aunt, Ofilia Yanez. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, April 21, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
