EDINBURG – Rachel S. Gonzalez, 70, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026, at her residence in Edinburg.

She is preceded in death by her father, Israel J. Silva Sr.; brother, Ruben Silva; father-in-law, Joaquin Gonzalez Jr.; and brother-in-law, Rolando Prado. 

Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by her husband, Joaquin Gonzalez III; three children, Julissa Jean (Cesar) Guiza, Joaquin (Denise) Gonzalez IV, Matthew Lee (Monica) Gonzalez; five grandchildren, Hailey Rose Guiza, Liam Israel Guiza, Joaquin Gonzalez V, Celine Nicole Gonzalez, Matthew Lee Gonzalez Jr.; mother, Rosa Silva; seven siblings, Celia (Fidel) Salinas, Alicia (Ray) Rios, Israel Jose (Gisel) Silva Jr., Enedelia (+Rolando) Prado, Rafael (Eva) Silva, Homer (Sonya) Silva, and Ricardo (Laura) Silva.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary, Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
