EDINBURG - Victor Prado Sr., 90, went home to the Lord Thursday, January 3, 2019, at his residence in Edinburg.
Victor was born on April 7, 1928, to Froilan Prado and Paulita Guzman Prado in Edinburg. He was a lifetime member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Victor joined the ARMY in 1950 and is a veteran of the Korean War. He married the love of his life Porfiria Molina in 1956. Mr. Prado was a family oriented man who enjoyed family BBQ's, hunting, dancing, and the outdoors. He was a handyman in all senses, there was nothing that he could not fix. Mr. Prado will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Porfiria Molina Prado; a son, Rolando Prado; and his parents.
Mr. Prado is survived by five children, Victor (Elia) Prado Jr., Maxine P. (Fernando) De La Garza, Eduardo "Eddie" (Maggie) Prado, Odette Prado, Marlon Prado; a daughter-in-law, Enedelia S. Prado; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Encarnacion, Federico, and Avelino Prado; a sister, Guadalupe P. Cruz; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 9:30 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2019, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
