PIEDAD REQUENEZ

EDINBURG – Piedad Requenez, 91, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at her residence in Edinburg.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Erasmo Arturo Garza; second husband, Haroldo Requenez Jr.; daughter, Marisela Perez; granddaughter, Marisela America Garza; grandson, Alonzo Rey Garza; and great-granddaughter, Hailey Isabel Jasso.

Mrs. Requenez is survived by her five children, Homero Erasmo Garza, Diana Garza (Jose Adan) Farias, Edna (Rodolfo) Gonzalez, Norma (Luis) Lopez, Mirosalva (Bernardo) Solis; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Friday, January 16, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Palli-Med Hospice and their staff for the special care that they provided for Mrs. Requenez.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
