John F. Perez, 58, entered eternal rest on Monday, March 6, 2023.
John was born on April 20, 1964. He grew up in Edinburg, and after marrying the love of his life, he made their home in Linn-San Manuel where he devoted his life to his home, marriage, and fatherhood. John was a family man first and foremost, always providing for his loved ones. Nothing made him prouder than his girls.
Mr. Perez was a devoted teacher going on 31 years working for the Edinburg School District. He began his teaching career at South Middle School in Edinburg and then transferred to Brewster School in Linn-San Manuel where he taught Business Information Management and Robotics. He touched the lives of everyone surrounding him especially the thousands of students he taught. His legacy will continue.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe G. Perez and Ana M. Gonzalez Perez.
Mr. Perez is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Edna A. Perez; two daughters, Theresa Ann Perez and Cynthia Annette Perez; and four siblings, Joe David (Letty) Perez, Mary Alice (Joe) Ponce, Sandra Spencer (Lindsay) Hicks, and Joe Gabriel (Emilia) Perez.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Friday, March 10, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in San Manuel. Interment will follow at El Rucio Cemetery in San Manuel.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
