OFELIA PECINA
EDINBURG – Ofelia Pecina, 80, went home to our Lord Friday, March 9, 2018, at Retama Manor Nursing Center in Edinburg.
She was born in and lived in Edinburg all of her life. Ofelia was known for her big hearty laugh, fabulous cooking, and her selflessness, always helping others. Her grandchildren, Mara and Miran, were her PRIDE and JOY. They will miss their Wela very much. She loved spending time with them and would drop everything to take care of them. She will be remembered for her strong work ethic, her never wavering faith, and her compassion. Even through all of her battles with medical and health issues, she was always thoughtful, and strong and yes, even feisty. She will forever be remembered dearly by all that knew her- loving family, faithful friends, and dear neighbors. THANK YOU FOR YOUR LIFE LESSONS, MOM.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Julia Camarillo; five siblings, Leonardo Camarillo, Janie Cano, Irene Medrano, Aurora Garcia and Ruben Camarillo.
Ofelia is survived by her loving husband, Francisco Pecina of Edinburg; a daughter, Julia H. (Pablo Martinez) Pecina of Edinburg; two grandchildren, Mara Martinez and Miran Martinez both of Edinburg; a brother, Arturo (Oralia) Camarillo of Edinburg; and a sister, Elva (Marcelino) Richie of Pharr.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, March 12, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
