Pamela Sue Castillo, 72, was born on April 3, 1953 in Florida. She died of cancer Saturday, July 5, 2025, at her home in Edinburg, TX.

She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Chowning Sr.; mother, Josephine Fink; her husband, Raul; brother Donald; sisters, Roberta and Carol.

Pamela spent many years working as a waitress and then found true delight in working and traveling with the carnival. She loved bringing happiness to children and loved everything Mickey Mouse and purple. Throughout her travels she found several church families along the way. Most recently she was a member of The Salvation Army of Council Bluffs Iowa until 2024 when she returned to Texas to her beloved church family at Abundant Grace Community Church

She leaves behind siblings, Keith and Mary; her child, Ashton (Shannon); grandson, Rylander; nephews: Christopher (Francis), Virgil (Wendy), Eric (Carmen), Everett, Michael (Michelle), Travis (Mary); nieces, Michelle (Ryan), Tabitha (Roger) and Kimberly; and her dearest friend, Norma Belmarez.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. memorial service Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E Canton Rd, Edinburg, TX 78539.

The family has requested, in lieu of flowers and cards, donations be made in her honor to Abundant Grace Community Church or The Salvation Army.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
