PALMIRA S. SILVA

PHARR – Palmira S. Silva, 92, entered into eternal rest Sunday, October 19, 2025, at her residence in Pharr.

Born in Cd. Mier, Tamaulipas, she had lived in Pharr since 1970 and previously lived in California. Palmira was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Servando and Juanita Saldana; five siblings, Guadalupe Flores, Nazario Saldana, Antonio Saldana, Amador Saldana, Servando Saldana.

Mrs. Silva is survived by her husband of 71 years, Donaciano “Chano” Silva; four children, Irasema (Leo) Gonzalez, Lorena Silva (Abel) Martinez, Maria Macarena (Tom Jr.) Carlin, Hernan (Andrea) Silva; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Elma Gonzalez, Rene Saldana, Juan Saldana.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 12 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2025, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
