ALAMO – Ruben Ocanas, 80, died Friday, March 2, 2018, at his residence in Alamo.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fernando and Virginia Ocanas; three brothers, Abel, Daniel, Elias Ocanas; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Ocanas is survived by his wife, Alma Gloria Ocanas of Alamo; six children, Brenda (Tony) Palacio of Milliken, CO, Martha (Jesse) Hernandez, Patricia (Brad) Jones, Diane (Angel) Flores, all of Greeley, CO, Fernando (Lydia) Ocanas of Platteville, CO, Macario (Lety) Ocanas of Alamo; six children in Mexico; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alicia Ramirez of Alamo, Maria Flores of San Antonio.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with 7 p.m. rosary Monday, March 5, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Caleb Flores, Josiah Flores, Noa Rey Ocanas, Ruben Ocanas, Zack Coslet, and Michael Fillingham.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
