EDINBURG - Nere Niza Vargas, 53, died Thursday, August 20, 2026, at South Texas Health System in McAllen.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Tomas and Lucia Rodriguez.
Nere is survived by her children, Jesus Aaron Soria, Jose Ignacio Venegas, Annalee (Julio Cesar Gonzalez) Vargas, Pedro Vargas III; grandchildren, Ariany Lucia Gonzalez, Antonio Gonzalez; siblings, Roberto Rodriguez, Evangelina Llanas, Alicia Rodriguez andTomas Nicolas Rodriguez.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. prayer service Monday, August 24, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg.
Funearl services are under the drieciton of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
