EDINBURG - Alicia M. Mendoza, 79, died Friday, August 19, 2016, at her residence in Edinburg, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Alamo, Mrs. Mendoza had lived in Edinburg most of her life.
She is preceded in death by her two grandsons, Sebastian Silva and Jesse E. Chavez; her parents, Dionicia and Antonio Martinez; and seven siblings. Alicia is survived by her loving husband, Ruben Mendoza, Sr. of Edinburg; two sons, Ruben Mendoza, Jr. of Edinburg and Jose Mendoza (Andrea) of Hargill; four daughters, Rosalva Chavez (Raul Ruiz) of Edinburg, Rachel Mendoza of Mission, Rosalinda Mendoza of Edinburg, Angelica M. Torres (Adolfo Jr.) of Elsa; 20 grandchildren; 2 great-granchildren; four siblings, Angelina Cantu, Roberto Martinez, Santiago Martinez, Antonio Martinez, Jr., all of Edinburg.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 3 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
