Manuel Enrique Contreras, 75, of Alamo, Texas, passed away on September 28, 2026 at Solara Hospital in South Texas Health System Hospital in Mcallen Texas, surrounded by the love of his family.
Manuel Enrique Contreras was born on November 15, 1950, in McAllen, Texas, to Gerardo Contreras and Dominga Contreras. On June 3, 1971, he married the love of his life, Rosa M.Contreras, with whom he shared 55 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around faith, family, love, and service to others.Manuel Enrique Contreras was truly a man of God. His faith was at the center of his life, and he demonstrated his love for God through the way he lived and treated others. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his church, his family, and anyone around him who was in need. He had a heart filled with joy, love, compassion, and empathy, and helping others was something he did from the heart.He was a devoted and loving husband, a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and friend. His joyful spirit and kind heart touched the lives of many. He loved his family deeply and left behind a beautiful example of what it means to live with faith, kindness, and love.
Manuel Enrique Contreras leaves behind his beloved wife, Rosa M. Contreras, and their four children:Linda Palomo and her husband Luis Palomo,Lisa Yvette Contreras,Gerardo Contreras,Priscilla Rivera and her husband Rodrigo Rivera. He was also blessed with 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, who brought tremendous joy and love into his life. His legacy will continue to live through them and through the many beautiful memories they shared together.Manuel Enrique Contreras was preceded in death by his parents, Gerardo Contreras and Dominga Contreras, his siblings, Gorge Elias Contreras, Jouse Israel Contreras, Joel Erasmo Contreras, Arnoldo Aaron Contreras, and Gloria Marina Contreras, and granddaughter, Marie Palomo, great grandson Ethen Trevino Palomo.
He is survived by his siblings, Emma Delia C. Salinas, Sylvia Esther Ramos, Diana Elizabeth Riley, Nora Elma Montes, and Noel Jaime Contreras, as well as many other family members, church family, friends, and loved ones whose lives he touched throughout the years.
Although his family's hearts are heavy, they give thanks to God for the blessing of his life and for every year, lesson, prayer, laugh, and precious memory they were able to share with him.
His earthly presence will be deeply missed, but the love he gave, the faith he demonstrated, the joy he carried, and the kindness he showed to others will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who had the blessing of knowing and loving him.

May Manuel Enrique Contreras rest peacefully in the presence of the Lord, knowing that he was deeply loved and that the beautiful legacy of faith, family, love, kindness, and service he leaves behind will never be forgotten.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Monday, October 5, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral Service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in San Juan. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
