Matilde O. Salazar

ALAMO – Matilde O. Salazar, 98, died Thursday, January 15, 2026, at San Juan Nursing Home.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Felipe Salazar; a son, Ricardo Salazar; a brother, Manuel Olivarez; three sisters, Marcela Rodriguez, Maclovia Iutzeler and Margarita Gutierrez.

Mrs. Salazar in survived by her two sons, John (Sylvia) Salazar, Felipe (Rita) Salazar; daughter in law, Sofia Salazar; daughter, Connie (Enrique) Navarro; step daughter, Lydia Juarez; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary, Monday, January 19, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
