EDINBURG – Roberto Martinez Jr, 58, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
Born in Lockhart, Texas, Mr. Martinez was formerly of Pharr and had lived in Edinburg for 27 years.
Mr. Martinez is preceded in death by his father, Roberto Martinez, Sr.
Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife, Cruz G. Martinez, five children, Maricela (Javier) Salinas, Roberto Martinez III, Claudia Yvette (Jesse A.)Dugas, Maria Griselda Martinez, and Veronica (Maximo) Pena; seven
grandchildren, Isaiah, Alejandra, Jesse James, Karicia, Niah, Destiny, and Fabian; his mother, Antonia Martinez; 13 brothers and sisters, Maria Sanchez, Roy Martinez, Ruben Martinez, Dolores Fortuna, Maria Luisa Ordonez, Pedro Martinez, Domingo Martinez, Raquel Garcia, Sylvia Ocanas, Rosie Perez, Janie Salinas, Gloria A. Lopez and Jesús Martinez.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 5 p.m. prayer service and a 7 p.m. rosary, today, August 13, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home inEdinburg.
