Leonel Martinez, 76, died Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Martinez and Alicia Mancha; a sister, Maria Alvarado.
Mr. Martinez is survived by his four children, Leonel (Sammie) Martinez, Ricardo Martinez, Bertha Martinez, Eva Martinez, all of San Juan; eight siblings, Enrique Chavez, Jose Martinez, Guadalupe Garza, Virginia Martinez, Juanita Camarillo, Jesus Martinez, Roberto Martinez, Manuel Martinez; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., with a Memorial Service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
