PHARR - Jesus Martinez, 79, died Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills in San Antonio.
Born in Goliad, Mr. Martinez had lived in Pharr most of his life.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Maria De Jesus "Chachy" Martinez.
Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife, Amelia R. Martinez; a son, Jose "Jesse" Martinez, both of Pharr; a daughter, Sanjuanita "Marti" (Trista Cox) Martinez; a granddaughter, Amelinda Cox Martinez, both of San Antonio; a nephew, Ruben (Gracie) Rodriguez; and nieces, Jessica, Priscilla, Belinda and their families; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2019, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
