EDINBURG — Eva G. Martinez, 78, died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at McAllen Medical Center.
Born in Alamo, Mrs. Martinez had lived in Edinburg for most of her life and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by a sister, Lydia Tijerina.
Mrs. Martinez is survived by her husband, Pedro Degollado of Edinburg; three sons, Rolando D. (Rosie) Martinez, Juan J. (Elena) Martinez, Pedro (Roxana) Martinez, all of McAllen; three daughters, Ana Martinez and Nora (Armando) Ledesma, both of Immokalee, Florida, Gloria Munoz, of Edinburg; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Pedro Gamez of Immokalee, Florida; and a sister, Dolores Ramirez, of Mission.
A rosary was held Monday, March 7, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. today, March 8, 2011, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Cremation will take place at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
