MARIA REYES HINOJOSA

EDINBURG – Maria Reyes Hinojosa, 91, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at South Texas Health System in Edinburg.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Pablo Hinojosa; great-granddaughter, Jessell Garza; and son-in-law, Oscar Vela.

Mrs. Hinojosa is survived by her four children, Heriberto P. (Josie) Hinojosa, Melba Vela, Jose Luis (Rosie) Hinojosa, Diana Hernandez; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Connie Campos, Juanita Reyna; and her provider, Martha Recio.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
