MARIA IRMA RIVAS

EDINBURG – Maria Irma Rivas, 80, passed away Monday, March 3, 2025, at her residence in Edinburg. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Reyes and Carmen Garza; three siblings, Leonel Garza, Osiel Garza, and Imelda Espino. 

Mrs. Rivas is survived by her husband, Jose Miguel Rivas; eight children, Jose Rolando (Irma) Rivas, Maricela Dube, Fernando (Veronica) Rivas, Armando Rivas, Hugo Gerardo Rivas, Israel Rivas, Magdalena (Joe) Luna, Juan Angel (Martha) Rivas; 35 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Otoniel Garza, Pedro Garza, and Ismael Garza. 

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. prayer service Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen. 

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
