SAN JUAN– Maria G. Gutierrez, 85, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Odessa Regional Medical Center.
She is preceded in death by her son, Jorge Gutierrez; parents, Ventura Gonzalez and Virginia Ochoa Gonzalez; and two siblings, Lorenza Escobedo and Ramona Vela.
Maria is survived by her husband, Emilio Gutierrez; three children, Belinda (Fernando) Cisneros, Abelina Gutierrez, Emilio (Christina) Gutierrez; and seven siblings, Porfirio Gonzalez, Federico Gonzalez, Guadalupe Gonzalez, Maria Elena Ochoa, Santos Corpus, Elvira Garcia and Ana Maria Cruz.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. prayer service Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 12 p.m. Monday, September 21, 2026, at La Trinidad Methodist Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
