Maria Isabel Espinoza

 EDCOUCH – Maria Isabel Espinoza, 54, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026, at her residence in Edcouch. Some of Maria’s favorite hobbies were gardening, sewing, camping, and spending time with her family, especially the grandkids. She was a very hard-working mother. Maria fought very hard and stayed faithful through every storm. Her family is at peace now, knowing that she is no longer suffering. We Will remember her not by the pain of her final days, but by the smile, the laughter, the strength, the faith, the kindness and all the love she shared with us. Until we meet again. 

She is preceded in death by parents, Manuel and Mariana Villegas; sister, Cecilia Villegas-Rea; maternal grandmother, Bernardina Valero De Rea; and mother-in-law, Agueda Espinoza. Mrs. Espinoza is survived by her husband, Mario Espinoza; six children, Jonathan (Ceci) Espinoza, Alondra Espinoza, Brianna (Gabe) Haddon, Kayla (Ezra) Hernandez, Ariana Espinoza, Caleb Espinoza; four grandchildren, Charlie Espinoza, Giovanni Haddon, Lorenzo Haddon, Eden Espinoza; three siblings, Idalia Flores, Manuel Villegas, and Israel Villegas. 

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. service Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 311 E. Expressway 83 in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 8 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
