PHARR– Maria Elena De La Rosa, 84, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Corpus Christi Medical Center.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Antonio De La Rosa; parents, Jose Yanez and Aurelia Ramirez; and various siblings.
Maria Elena is survived by her eight children, Oralia (Leandro) Montemayor, Arturo (Rosa) De La Rosa, Antonio Jr. (Elodia) De La Rosa, Dora Elia De La Rosa, Graciela (Juan Perez) De La Rosa, Jose Angel De La Rosa, Mario De La Rosa, Alfredo De La Rosa; 25 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 12 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
