MARIA LUISA CANTU
EDINBURG – Maria Luisa Cantu, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Edinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation in Center in Edinburg.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Rebecca Villarreal, nine siblings, Reynaldo Villarreal, Juan Villarreal Jr., Santiago Villarreal, Ricardo Villarreal, Rosalba Hernandez, Rebecca Alanis, Diana Villarreal and Leonel Villarreal.
Maria Luisa is survived by her husband, Oscar Cantu; five siblings, Laura Rodriguez, Dora Villarreal, Hilda (Alberto) Ybarra, Noemi (Domingo) Cavazos and Guadalupe (Esperanza) Villarreal.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
